Nokia 7280 Camera Phone

Infosync World has a good preview of the Nokia 7280 Camera Phone. They write - ‘Despite having launched some truly odd-looking phones over the past couple of years, the 7280 fashion phone from Nokia certainly breaks the mould. It’s a ’slider’ phone, yet not in the conventional sense of the word; it’s a fashion phone, but not like anything else you’ve ever seen - at least from Nokia; and it brings Apple iPod-style scroll wheel navigation to mobile phones. Though the concepts are new, however, the question that begs itself is virtually ancient: is it any good?…

Samsung's latest phones, straight from Korea

The Samsung X830 (pictured) is Samsung's first attempt at a dedicated music phone. It features a flick-to-open mechanism, 1GB of onboard memory and a scroll wheel. This is a sign of things to come and sources at Samsung informed me that it is soon going to launch a new range of music phones in the UK, to compete with the likes of Sony Ericsson and Nokia.

Our sources also leaked that Samsung is going to make a phone that's even thinner than the Samsung X820, which is only 6.9mm thick.

Video calling facility of 3G mobile phone completely differ it from 2G mobiles. This facility does not supported by 2G mobiles. This is the hallmark of the technology. Perhaps a person from yesteryears would deem it a product of sorcery.3G phones operate only in the 3G network. Installation of 3G network requires licensing, which is very expensive.

GSM-handset

Samsung E420 gets La Fleur off to a start – in fact this handset has a codename, “Lily”, making the target audience even more obvious (though there are feminine-titled models with truly masculine looks). Giving you an idea of what the designers were setting out to, we can say in short - «romantic and cute». Every last detail found in this device looks this way only owing to that concept – it is the handset’s appearance that should be the very decisive argument for purchasing the E420.

Mitsubishi’s D702iF

a new handset that tracks the fertility of female users each month in a bid to help them conceive.
The phone, which has been seen before in prototype form and went on sale in Japan this week, takes user-inputted menstruation data and works out when attempts to conceive are most likely to succeed, then prompts the user to make 'appropriate' plans.
Other features include 'camouflage melody', a simulated incoming ringtone to be used as an excuse to escape unwanted attention in bars and the like.

New Mobile PT-S170

Another new mobile phone with a strange new form factor debuts in South Korea. SK Telecom, the largest mobile carrier in Korea, has released photos of an in-house designed handset, the Pantech & Curitel PT-S170. Details are limited, but the PT-S170 appears to be a camcorder phone that slides, folds and swivels, which in my book is just plain greedy.

Siemens , SL55

-- With the mobile phone market in India set to bloom, basic service providers are finding that subscribers are now giving up landlines in favour the wireless. Telecom global major Siemens has recently launched a range of attractive GSM phones for the Indian market, some with the Indian language menu, to cash in on this opportunity. Mobile phone subscriptions crossed 10 million in 2002 that was almost a 100 percent growth, and is likely to go up to 22 million this year. In April 2003, mobile subscribers had crossed upto 13 million. According to research firm Gartner, there should be 50 million subscribers by 2005. Therefore, Siemens has caught the wind at the right time.
